Let's party...with Pistol the Horse this Saturday!

This past year has been such a whirlwind of excitement! Never in a million years would I have dreamed I would be where I am in such a short period of time.  Rosie the Pig has taken me so many places and I have met so many wonderful people along the way!

I was busy at work this past week: seeing patients, answering the phone, managing various hospitalized patients; basically running around like a chicken with my head cut off when a little girl about 7 ran up to me and exclaimed, “Dr. H!” She threw her arms around me and was so excited to see me. I visited her school several months back and apparently Rosie and I had made a pretty good impression!

Some of my favorite memories from this past year were with the students at elementary school readings. I always ended my readings by asking if anyone had any questions.  Without fail, a hundred little hands would stretch into the air. Grinning, I would select someone who also seemed extra excited to ask a question. Their question was never a question, but instead a story about one of their animals at home. I loved that they used my Q&A sessions as an opportunity to tell their own Rosie-like story.

I LOVE these moments.

AND that is why I cannot wait to share my second book Pistol the Horse!

If you didn’t already know, Pistol, Rosie and I will be at Stillwater Milling Co. in Stillwater this Sat., June 16 from 2 – 5 p.m.  There will be hotdogs, prepared by my dearest husband, chips and cookies!  After you’re done eating, get your picture taken with Pistol, Rosie or me! 

Stillwater Humane Society will also be in attendance with a few furry friends of their own available for adoption.

Another big treat is Miss Rodeo Oklahoma Teen herself, Ms. Maci Brown will be joining us to sign autographs and take pictures.
